Element: Manage a forced landing from level flight
  • Engine failure is identified correctly and control of helicopter maintained
       
Element: Helicopter in autorotative flight is established and maintained
       
Element: Rotor revolutions per minute (RRPM) is controlled within limitations
       
Element: Suitable landing area is selected
       
Element: Appropriate radio transmissions are made if time permits
       
Element: Emergency checks are performed
       
Element: Passengers are briefed as appropriate
       
Element: Autorotative landing is performed and helicopter is secured
       
Element: Manage engine failure during take-off and on final approach
  • Engine failure is identified correctly and control of helicopter is maintained
